Vitamin D Can Help Increase Testosterone in Men

According to a new study conducted by Katharina Nimptsch and associates at the Harvard School of Public Health, there is a correlation between vitamin D levels and testosterone. The study was published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology. It is unclear if low vitamin D causes testosterone levels to drop, if vitamin D intake increases testosterone levels, or some combination thereof.

What is known is that men with healthy vitamin D levels are more likely to have healthy testosterone levels than men who suffer from vitamin D deficiency. Supplements were used in vitamin D deficient individuals in the clinical trial.

The scientists who conducted the trial stopped short of asserting a definitive causality between increased vitamin D3 intake and increased testosterone levels, but everything else they said seems to indicate that such a relationship does indeed exist.
